Hey dude,

I never claimed to be the foremost internet scholar on SunSoft and Data East – I just wanted to put together a funny list for other people who remembered suffering through the likes of games like Fester’s Quest. My intent was not to disparage, but it’s always easier to write in a sardonic tone for the sake of humor. Good call on the games you mentioned, they’re obscure but definitely high quality and worth checking out. You should consider doing a write-up to bring some awareness to these forgotten treasures – I had never even heard of Ufouria until I read about it on NintendoLife a few months ago.

Wow this guy actually knows JACK SHIT about the companies he is smack talking. SunSoft is the creator of many, MANY wicked games that just aren’t as well known as Mario and Castlevania. The likes of Ufouria, Trip World, Waku Waku 7, Astra Super Stars, Galaxy Fight, Chameleon Twist, etc.

And Data East brought us games like Magical Drop, Fighters History, Spinmaster, Windjammers, etc.

Small correction: Riptide GP was developed by Vector Unit, who made Hydro Thunder Hurricane, not Go. However, even if it doesn’t use the same engine, it still looks fantastic and plays pretty well.
